I found the exam pretty average, wasn't too hard, only got stumped on the semantic network theory questions.
Everything else was pretty simple, good exam^^

what did everyone put for the semantic network theory question...all parts?

stored:
information is stored in the form of overlapping networks of concepts interrelated and interconnected by meaningful links

retrieved:
a cue activates the network of concepts, which in turn activate individual nodes to cause a spreading of activation until the correct node or memory is found

fastest:
the more associations the memory has, the more chance it to be recalled, and the shorter links between the nodes, the greatest association between the links and the faster the retrieval of the information

With 'fastest' for the semantic network theory, would information that is more meaningful or better encoded, thus better organised also be retrieved more quickly?

What would be the mark range needed for just an 'A' on the exam?
75-? or something? I have no idea!
Does anyone have a rough idea?    :)

yep. asking in alot of threads will get you a A . jk lol.

u need a 78-81. i've dropped about 6 marks :S . 82 will get you a A+
based on last year

based on 2007.
a 77 will get you a A+.
a 71-76 will get you that A. i am hoping that this years A+ mark will drop lower :) .

shouldn't be that bad i guesss. vexx and myself did a fair amount of psych practice exams and usually dropped 6-8 easy marks on MCon the prac exams, it feels a lot less in this one possibly due to it being easier?

well the last ones i was doing i dropped 3-5'ish marks. this one i reckon was similar in difficulty to last year, i'm pretty sure the A+ cutoff will be similar. or the same as midyear.

For the second question of the semantic network theory, could you say: "A particular memory region is searched, and we trace associations for links to the memory of the information. A specific retrieval cue activates relevant nodes which in turn activates other nodes to which they are linked."

????

what did everyone put for the semantic network theory question...all parts?
a)Stored: Long Term Memory is organised according to meaning. This adds to the storage and retrieval of the information as it processed at a deep level. Information is organised systematically and meaningfully in networks of nodes. Nodes of information are connected by meaningful links. The stronger the association, the shorter the link.

b)Retrieved: Information is retrieved from Long Term Memory by cues which activate nodes.

c) The more nodes that are activated the greater the chance that the information will be recalled.
