I hated English lol. The idea of writing an essay depressed me so much that I'd procrastinate. When I finally ended up writing one, I'd give myself a well deserved break which lasted for more than an hour. What a complex subject. And to think it scales DOWN.
Raw Scores:
Psychology 50 | Mathematical Methods 49 | Further Mathematics 49 | Accounting 49 | Chemistry 44 | English 43
ATAR: 99.75

You can definitely get 43 if you have an above average SAC mark and a low A+ on the exams. My SACs were bad for Unit 3 but I made up for them in Unit 4. Also, it is important to do a lot of practice essays despite how painful they are because that is the only reason I improved in Language Analysis from like a 5-6/10 to a 9/10.

My exam mark was: Lang Analysis: 18/20, Context: 15/20; Hard Times (text response) 18/20.

My sac marks so far are a mix of A+ and B+ but ill be happy to get a B+ on exam and hopefully get low 30's

At my school last year, I know that:

Rank 1 in physics got a 50.
Rank 1 in biology got a 49 (but there were 2 50s in the cohort).
Rank 1 in psychology scored a 49 (there were 3 50s).
Rank 1 in methods got mid-low 40s (there were quite a few high 40s; top mark of 49).
Rank 1 in english scored 49 (there were 6 or 7 50s).
Rank 1 in history got 49.
Rank 1 in French got 46.
Rank 1 in Japanese got 50.
Rank 1 in lit got 50... I think.

That's about all I remember... but in short, rank 1 often gets the top mark... but by no means always.

One of my friends was ranked about 6th or 7th in a pretty weak cohort managed a 49 in business, which has a really competitive top end. So don't worry too much about ranking. An amazing exam mark can change a LOT.
