And if you're not smart enough to do either med or commerce, do just plain science.  And if you not smart enough to do med, commerce or science, do an arts degree - just for the sake of going to uni (or maybe just for the sake of getting tertiary education since you barely have any contact hours to begin with).

On a more serious note and going back on topic, VCE is completely different from uni.  As Mao and shinny have said, at uni you learn for the sake of learning.  If you have found your interests then pursue them because if you don't, you'll regret it for a long time coming.  I can't remember who said it but a saying goes something along the lines of:

"If you enjoy work, you'll never have to work a day in your life again."
"Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life."

Engineering isn't just for guys. If you're a girl and you do it, they throw a lot of money at you, so I've heard.
