Regarding UoM

I don't understand the process of biomedicine!

Are there any benefits if a person gets 99.8 and gets into biomedicine than a person who gets 95 and enters the same course?

If u get 99.90 or above your guaranteed a place in graduate entry med (commonwealth supported) as long as u fulfill the minimum academic requirements during the biomed course. If u get 99 or above your guaranteed a full fee place in grad entry med "     "     "

Not really, just scholarships as above have mentioned. And yes guaranteed pathways with the 99.xx .. .. ENTERS.. .. but its not that much of a difference!

So if one gets an ENTER of 95 ('09 minimum) and undertakes biomedicine at UoM and they maintain a certain grade (GPA?), s/he will be eligible to sit the GAMSAT for post-grad medicine at UoM, right? If so, is GAMSAT the only test or will interviews be a requirement as well (like getting into undergrad at Monash)?

Apologies for hi-jacking.

they'll probably want interviews too.

Despite the scholarships, is there anything else that you get? Like you don't have to sit the GAMSAT

Well, you can get a guaranteed full fee spot into med if you get 99.8. You have to maintain a 75% GPA. Do that and you wont have to sit the GAMSAT.

I asked at the University and they said that they look at your full academic record.  So you might have an advantage if you have a higher ENTER but it won't necessarily be a huge one.

I was going to post what others have posted before me, but if you want the official evidence, it's here!

Basically, if you get an ENTER of 99+, it's supposed to be easier to go to a postgraduate degree in Medicine since you are guaranteed a place (whether it be full fee or Commonwealth Supported) provided of course you meet the conditions:

Quote
  • An achieved average grade of H2A (75%). The H2A will count as satisfying the GPA requirement for entry
  • Meeting the subject prerequisite requirements
  • Students will also be required to satisfactorily complete the interview to ensure their communication skills are adequate for competent health practice
  • Places being available (clinical placement capacity is the limiting factor)
By the way, does anyone know if it is difficult to maintain that "75%" average?
