In the game of prototype why do crows circle the infected water towers?

You also will see crows feeding on mutant's flesh.

So are the crows immune to the virus and basically become vectors of the virus?

No I haven't I try to extend the life of my games as much as possible!

This game being as good as it is I don't want it to be finished for a while! I'm up to the 23rd mission.

I have found 90+ web of intrigue targets (Are there set locations or do you need to complete the game to find all of them?)
