How different is VCE chemistry to Uni Chemistry?

Hello. I wasn't very good in VCE Chem but it is recommended (not required) that I do it as a complementary subject. I want to major in Genetics and Biochemistry (one of the later subjects) requires it.. Just wondering if it's very very difficult, otherwise I'd just not do it and go for Psychology instead.

Chemistry 1 should be passable with just VCE knowledge. Chemistry 2 has lots of new content, but not much in the way of problem solving/stoichiometry - you just need to understand lots of new concepts.

Practical sessions are very boring. And in Chem 2, you should be able to finish them all with about 90 minutes to spare.

Yes, but you are still likely to dread prac weeks. Especially when it means that instead of coming to uni at 2:15, you need to be there at 9...
