Is there even such a thing as an 'easy breadth'? I thought they were all held at same levels (1, 2, 3).

You'll find that subjects with only 2 contact hours will require you do do more work outside of class. Lots of reading and essay writing, I assume. Maybe a participation grade too? (It's harder than you think, it becomes devastatingly obvious if you don't know your stuff in discussions). I think just do something that sounds interesting, not something that you think will be easy. Remember how in The Breakfast Club the 'brain' guy chose to do 'shop class' for a bludge and then it turned out it was the only class he ever failed?

LOL
Music Psychology is what I'm going to do this semester as my last breadth subject forever!
I don't wanna go through the same pain I went through when I did commerce subjects such as Finance 1 and Microeconomics last year :( (although finance was sort of alright...)..and I don't want to spend the most time on my breadth when I should be spending more time on my core subjects.

Ultimately, your (probably) the one paying for whatever subject you do. Do you really want to do an 'easy' subject that probably won't be of any use to you when you hit the work force?

They say 40% of Music Psychology's grade is based on weekly web based discussion participation/online quizzes. Random questions: does anyone know how much time you'd need to spend on this web stuff to fulfill the grade, and what sort of/depth of discussion they would be after? :P

I wouldn't know...but I go on the internet all the time so the web stuff that is worth 40% of the grade for Music Psychology is just PERFECT for me.
Not sure what kind of depth they want in discussions but perhaps deep?

They'll probably want to to read about whatever topics they're covering and just have a sensible conversation on whatever points/issues are brought up. From experience, it doesn't necessarily have to be insightful (although that helps), just accurate and relevant.

This question is like a typical year 10 asking what subjects should he do in VCE. Are scaled subjects better? Etc.

Most people advice them to do the subjects they enjoy and may need as a pre-req. The same applies here.

Besides the fact that Music Psychology may seem to be an "easy breadth subject", Im also wanting to do it because Im interested in Psychology (having done first year Psychology subjects already) and I want to apply that in a music context. Music subjects are somewhat cheaper than the other subject bands (eg: commerce is around $1000 per subject >-:( and that seemed like a waste to me when I didn't enjoy them commerce subjects as much). I also miss doing essays and research, thats why I wanna do Music Psychology.
