Another computer problem :(

Everytime I try to start Microsoft Excel, a box comes up saying Preparing Files. After a few seconds another box comes up reading:

Installation Error: Files not Found.
A required installation file SKU011.CAB could not be found

Original Installation Source Required:

If you installed Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 from a CD, please insert your CD. If you installed Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 over your computer network, please browse to the installation source on your network. Once you have located your installation source, Click OK.

The problem is that I can't find my CD (must've been at least a few years since I installed Microsoft 2003, and I don't know what it means by "over your computer network". Can anyone help me here? Thanks.

You probably have deleted the cached install files for office, something has gone wrong, it tried to repair itself but can't find the install files and requires the original set-up disk. You have a few options:

1. find someone else who has the disk (provided you have the serial number)
2. download the MSOFFICE2003 disk from torrent (provided you have the serial number)
3. buy MSOFFICE2007
4. find someone you know who goes to TAFE/Uni and visit google 'itsnotcheating' and proceed to buy MSOFFICE2007
5. OpenOffice (free download) is an open-source alternative that is compatible with Microsoft formats (but doesn't work as well imo)

http://www.sku011cab.com/ has instructions on fixing the issue. Hopefully it is just a registry problem.
