It was a good match when Verbeek decided to sacrifice a defensive midfielder and then we got immediate results.  Cahill finally got to play in his preferred position and Kennedy got to start, albeit he can't with his feet.

Overall, imagine what we could have done with Kewell in the midst of things as well.

Kewell is over-rated. I think it was a blessing in disguise that he was left out. It meant bresciano could start and he did well. Not sure why he was taken off when he was dominating but chippers deserved to come on.

I know diving is not by any means exclusive to Italy, but some of their behaviour was nothing short of disgraceful. For example that little confrontation in the goal after they scored against Slovakia where some guy pulled the italian bloke off and he fell down grabbing his head and writhing around like a fucking maggot. I don't care if there is a culture of staging in soccer. In my mind it's cheating
