Cant balance trial balance - help

Hi guys,

i have trouble balancing a trial balance in chpater 4's case study on page 79-80 in Neville Box textbook.
Can someone help me out?

id love to help you out, but im using cambridge. just double check all your figures.

if the trial balance does not balance it could mean
1. two entries were recorded on the same side in your ledgers
2. only one entry has been recorded in your ledgers
3. a different amount has been recorded on either side in the ledgers

also just double check all your figures, my trial balance didnt balance the other day, i double checked and it turned out id put 100,000 into my calculator, not 190,000.  hope that helps a bit.

yep, my accounting teacher could not balance it out too, same with other students.

I remember doing this question before and I received solution of this from my teacher. Here is a scan:

my scanner doesnt work. The debtors 1697 is defintely wrong because the orig. $ was 2500 and there was onyl one transaction affecting it and it was $200, no 3s or anything.

the teacher showed me the solutions and cant figure it out too.

Oh i just did that last class, i got all my figures right and it balance its on school computer so yeah, i memba cash at bank was 7686, that was it and i had to re-check gst clearing did you take out miscellaneous expenses?

i got it to balance ages ago. lol.

the problem was the first transaction. Debtors.
