Law-Making through Parliament SAC

I have a SAC on ch2 tomorrow regarding law making through parliament. I have a good knowledge on the stages involving the progress of a bill through parliament and the effectiveness of parliament. Is there anything else I should be aware of? Such as knowing the types of committees such as the Scrutiny of Acts and Regulations committee. Also, can explain to me more in depth the "Bills to Committee" process since my textbook has barely anything on it

All you need to know are the 7 stages ( i think they're 7?) wait there's first reading, statement of compatibility, second reading, committee of the whole, third reading, passed opposite house and oryal assent. Well in regards to the committee, all you need to know for that stage is why it is there and what is the purpose of it being there. Basically you should know this for all stages. Not too in depth but enough.
Also, if you don't know what statement of compatibility is, it is a newly introduced stage in the state legislative process to which newly proposed legislation is reviewed and revised to see if it is compatible with the VIctorian bill of rights. If not, then it is amended to meet the requirements.
knowing this will impress your teacher since i don't think it's required of you to know. Although you may or may have not learnt it, not sure.

well anyway goodluck you better get a 50. no pressure.

But isnt there a federal/commonwealth Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities?

Australia does NOT have a bill of right, only Victoria does. So it only applies to victoria. Make sure you don't get confused.
