Lucky. Your enhancement classes have already started :( I think I have another two weeks or so.
That isn't that bad, all that you haven't covered at all is Further and Biology.

aw really that's ages :( . my actual classes start on tuesday :) !

well not too lucky that we started thursday as that was a prac day, we did two pracs and had to write reports and no one finished and it was so stressful. haha it took me three hours today to finish the reports >_> i hate pracs lol
weird that those pracs / reports are like worth ~7% of our semester grade!

Me too, practical reports are gay.
7%?? That's heaps, screw these up and you are heading towards 5.0 :P

I hate experiments and just about all forms of practical activity. This is probably why I'm going to end up a theorist.

I read that as terrorist and panicked because I hate experiments/pracs as well.

Try reading the very end of Life of Pi which is the interview between him and the Japanese people, that's probably the most interesting part of the entire book and it made me want to attempt reading the actual book again.
Yann Martel is M. Night Shyamalan in a white guy costume.

On topic:

Biology - Read and summarised Unit 3 part of the textbook.
Chemistry - same as Biology
Methods - First ~5 Chapters
Eng Language - Read Heinemann text + 2 Kate Burridge books.
2009: Psychology; Further
2010: English Language; Biology; Chemistry; Methods

yeah, go me! *determined*

what book are you using? "CHEMISTRY 3rd Ed" by those two authors starting with H and C?

Me too, practical reports are gay.

hahaha oh no 5.0! i wouldn't mind that actually better then getting 49 as a 6th subject O_o (not that it would happen haha )
yeah 20% of our marks for each semester come from pracs, we have three per semester roughly just under %7 worth each. which is annoying.___.

School on Monday and I haven't done jack.

Some chapters of Methods, only briefly tho, no extended questions.
Aos 1 of Physics. Our homework was mainly teaching us about sig figs...F that.
Read first page of Chem and couldn't continue.
Almost half of "Year Of Wonders" read.
Almost finished all my homework, for English I got answers off study guides :\.

^ Mao said that significant figures doesn't matter in Physics. And I don't see what's wrong with learning about significant figures. IMO it should be like decimal points in Maths, in each instance that you get it wrong, you should be punished.

Well, as a physicist I suppose I could contribute to the nuclear weapons project of some fanatical third world government... Interesting notion, thanks for bringing it up, albeit unintentionally.

Joking aside, is it strange to dislike pracs? I enjoy science, but having to actually physically do something is just a pain. When I saw that I'd have to put up with 6~ hours a week of lab sessions in first-year uni, my head started hurting.

//

I don't see how significant figures is a pain, it's really quite simple. There are only a few rules and they all make sense.

^ nah i dont like them either akirus.
especially when you do a full 9am-4pm day of them, and then have to go home and write all about what you just did and relevant questions that aren't even that relevant at all.
pracs are quite repetitive also (endless chem titrations sigh), i'm just excited to learn the theory and concepts, not the practical side...

The physics pracs I did last year were actually painful. All I remember is some kind of ticker tape thing where you had to draw lines where some kind of machine punched holes through them. The reason I don't remember is because it was tedious, boring, pointless and honestly, I just didn't give a damn. Writing reports on it is just the icing on the cake.

I am so glad for the thing they call theoretical physics.

At uni, they're a monumental pain. They're not difficult, they're just boring and stupid. For Physics, basically everything you do is fitting data to a straight line, finding the error, and then explaining why there's an error. It's lamestupid.

You'll love theoretical physics, it's basically just applied maths :)
