- Inadequate communication skills
- Some people don't have the required skills or are not confident enough to mutually support and share information with other members
- Can't work collaborately

EDIT: opps. Didn't read the question properly

Virtual teams do not operate like normal physical teams, as their requirements reflect a a whole new way of communicating, working collaboratively, sharing information and mutually supporting others, This way of communicating makes people uncomfortable.

Think about the viki (that's an example of a virtual tea)

Some things that might make people uncomfortable

- Lack of familiarity with technology that is being used by the virtual team
- Loss of body language cues (this is an important one, as a large degree of communication is delivered via body language)
- You may be working with someone you will never meet in real life. Therefore you really don't get to know them, which might make it harder to work

There's bound to be a few other things (dan mentioned some) as well.
