AH I HATE YOU UMAT
BLOODY WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME

So true. Section 2 was really bad for me too. I didn't think I did that badly in section 2 if anything section 3 I thought I'd epically failed not 2.

Yeah, im more motivated too.

The way i see it is, no use worrying about something you can't change, if you can't do anything about it worrying isnt really going to get you anywhere.

Wow, all the way to the state library?

I just go to my local one

^^ Incorrect. I spoke to the Chief Selective Officer or whatever his title is on open day. He told me that there was a strong preference towards the "Biomedicine" students from Melbourne. I said, "It doesn't make sense that you would chose a science student over a biomedicine student unless personality flaws are present. Biomedicine students received ATAR's far higher and it would all be in vain..." He replied, "Yes well that's the logical approach but we don't discourage kids from Science but it is possible to do Post Grad Medicine. You are right though, obviously there is a preference towards the Biomedicine students assuming they have the personalities to match..."

What was his name? The uni might want biomed students because they're a stronger cohort, but there's no formal preference towards them. GPA + GAMSAT = interview, course never comes into it. If they see a science student with good marks and a good interview performance, that's all they care about. From my reading of what he said, it sounds like he was just equivocating and saying "either pathway is possible"

Yeah, its not like they actively discriminate against Bsc students, your post kind of made it sound like this and i thought id make that fact clear for everyone else reading.

Wait, how do I read my results... there are numbers everywhere?Huh?

Look at the number in the box on the right, that's your overall score (should say it next to it). Look at the graph someone posted in this thread (or on the ACER website) and find out your percentile, then compare it to the chart for your desired course.

The other numbers are the section scores that were used to calculate your overall score. Unless one is extremely low, they're not as important as the overall score.
