Hey mavis, if you're going to submit that to turnitin, you might want to edit it out of your post :P

Loved it with a passion.

This is clearly now the halo bashing thread, what are you doing with your proper discussion posting

HAHAHA Oh god thank you for reminding me or I totally would have failed prof writing.
'NO DICE, SIMPAK. YOU STOLE A BOOK REVIEW FROM AN INNOCENT VCE STUDENT NAMED MAVIS GIBBONS.  NO NEED TO LEAVE YOUR COURSE WE WILL KICK YOU OUT.'
Okay editing now.

I can also contribute to discussion...and stuff.
I want to read American Subversive by David Goodwillie after my friend reviewed it for the assignment previously discussed.  Although I am unsure if I will like it because I get turned off political things quite easily if I perceive them to be communicating subliminal opinions!  And my friend is pretty much demanding that I read The Hunger Games so I guess I will be doing that this summer...If exams ever finish.
And also Bush's new memoir.  But I guess we don't consider that literature.

Hunger Games is a great way to spend a few hours. Has absolutely no literary value but it's pretty engaging and the author has some decent suspense going. The first one is the best, the second one is just the first one rewritten and the third is a pretty generic revolution story.

So my friend tells me too.  We were meant to review a book published since 2009 (hence the Halo scenario arose) and she was going to have to review the last one but she complained to our tutor and he was like 'you can review the first one but only because it will take too many words to give background on the other two if you did the third'.
So she was pleased about that!

I don't get time to read for leisure during the semester :(  It makes me relatively sad.
However, re: works with real literary value, I am still recovering from that book-a-week scenario for Literature and Performance.  I don't mind a lack of literary value, at least until my brain recovers!

ON THAT NOTE, OF MY BRAIN BEING FRIED: VN is currently the reason I am 129/2000 words for my history essay (which I was meant to start three days ago) and 0/750 words for my travel piece, both of which are due Monday yayyyy!

I'm reading the new WoT novel if that counts. Should finish it tonight :D
Had far too much Perrin for my liking, but that was compensated for by plenty of Mat being awesome (heck even Perrin's stuff was decent for a change)

Heh, come to a real degree and have only exam assessment. Although I also have my short fiction piece + essay due monday, ugh

I had a look at the Hunger Games out of curiosity. Isn't that just Battle Royale but in English? =/

Pretty much. She tries to develop characters do relationships and stuff like that...but it's not the strongest part of the book.

The games stuff is way better and is pretty cool

EVERYTHING IS DUE MONDAY.  I have 10 000 words due - that should not be legal.
Then Psych on Friday which I can't even study for, despite wanting to, because I have to work through utter bullshit to get there.

What is your fiction piece for?

Creative Writing: Short Fiction

I probably won't do a 300 level creative writing next year, the same sex desire breadth looks more interesting/easier to get H1s in

Recently finished The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint Exupery. Real quick read, but it's actually pretty insightful and made me kind of wish I still lived in the naivete of childhood.
