I'm pretty sure Australia is going to get owned in this first test. My prediction of captains: Strauss making a century and Ponting getting caught hooking on a low score.

lol, there goes my prediction (so far)...Strauss out third bowl and a Siddle on fire. Currently England at 209/7, seems as they are the ones going to or getting get owned.

Well my prediction remains intact [ so far ].

"Australia will win the first game, lose the next two, win the next to make it 2-2 and then finally succumb to the pressure whilst England will rise and take out the Ashes."

Before stumps on day 1 isn't close enough to say Australia will win. England will probably scramble 250+ which isn't a disaster since the pitch is apparently going to degenerate quickly.

FAAA!! that was a mad as hatrick and dat too on his B'day.. good on him

not a bad present eh?

good to see Doherty with a couple of wickets too, I much prefer him over Hauritz. Good decision making by the selectors (so far), including Siddle and Doherty!

For once the selectors have shown some sense. I cannot wait for tomorrow! Salvating at the thought of England bowlers getting smashed around :D
Go Siddle (despite the fact I wanted you dropped - I love you now!)!

Me too, unfortunately I have school tomorrow and will miss most of the massacre (I hope it is one-way domination). Particularly looking to see someone attack Swan, can't see how he has got so many wickets this year...

I concur. I think if Swann doesn't take a lot of wickets come tomorrow, then that will put in us in good stead. Mind you, England still have Broad and Jimmy Anderson in their attack. I just hope we don't lose too many wickets early on - or else we could be in trouble. Australia's top order must perform (i.e. Watson, Pointing, Clarke etc) if we are to win this test match.

SIDDLE!!!!!!!! best birthday present for sure

Dont underestimate englands bowling line up, they could do some damage if the australian top order arent prepared....
but then again, i wouldnt be surprised if we just smash their bowlers.
