Wow Rogers really needs confidence at the start of his innings if he wants starts, should learn from Warner

No test opener should learn anything from Warner

Warner may be definitely rash, but openers could do with the confidence he displays from ball 1

From the game today, what I realised is that Australia has the potential to win. I was reading these stupid Facebook comments with people saying "already lost 4-0 ashes", "play with some heart". I'm sure that they go out there to play their best but it's not as easy as focusing, hitting a 6, no worries! Game is played at a professional standard, so it's not as easy as that.

Johnson/Haddin partnership proved that Australia's batting lineup can be strong. If the upper end can gain some confidence and start batting better next innings, they can do some damage. Australia's top 7 can bat very well, we'll all seen potential, especially in the last Ashes.

Either way win or lose, still going to watch.

Oh and for Stuart Broad, hes good, but I'd say he was pretty lucky to get those four wickets.

Don't know why they've played Nathan Lyon is this game. Given the seaming pitch and the warranted uncertainty and concern about the stability of the batting lineup, Faulkner would have been a better choice.

Also, it's time for Michael Clarke to move back to number 5. Too often the Australian top 4 are the first four wickets to fall and before the score even gets to 100. We need to ensure some stability. Clarke as captain should be batting at 3 or 4, but he for some reason repeatedly fails to make runs there. Clocks them up at 5 though. Might just be a psychological thing, but it's time to go with a proven route.

I think they'll try and boost the lead to around 500 (Bailey's time to shine) and then declare to get a few overs at the Brits before stumps. The 'Gabba can be a bit of a road in the last few days so Clarke needs to make sure there's a) enough time to bowl them out and b) enough runs on the board to avoid Cook and Trott scoring double centuries and chasing us down! Nathan Lyon did look good in England's first innings but I'm not sure this pitch is going to turn much more and Strauss has really struggled. Can see Clarke batting out the day and then maybe 10 overs in the morning before declaring. I'd like to see a declaration tonight though, reckon we've got Cook's measure in the first few overs!

Bit soft of Cook and the Brits. Clarke's comments towards Anderson were disappointing, but Warner was just being honest and reflective.
