At some point before the end of this tour Cook is going to actually break down in the post match interview. Jesus.

Stay strong. Maybe after a decade of domination we can feel a little sympathetic. But not before then.

'The big three' - Another money stunt. It's going to completely ruin teams like the West Indies, Bangladesh, Zimbabwe.

If it's only 'about the best three teams in the world', then why aren't South Africa in it? They are much, much better than India, they can actually win games away. England are shit, they don't deserve to be in it either.

One vote away from this happening, RIP test cricket.

They should bring Ed Cowan back in to the squad, he had some promise. Other than him, I dislike the majority of the Australian lineup. Clarke is a funny bunny, who is a decent batsmen but terrible at captaining. Watson is not stable enough as a batsmen to be in the team if he can no longer bowl, and players like Warner, Smith and Maxwell are all sloggers with no technique at all.

wut.

You "dislike the majority of the Australian lineup" who just fairly convincingly beat the top test side in the world, and completely demolished England? I also strongly disagree with all the other points you've made, except possibly barring the one about Watson:

- Ed Cowan is a good batsman on his day, but he's too inconsistent and I don't think the test side is looking for an accumulator right now

- Clarke's captaincy has been consistently good. I applaud his decisions, declarations and team listing choices. Good stuff all round, and his play is great too

- Warner, Smith and Maxwell have superb technique. Just because they mark up runs fast, doesn't mean they're just slogging. It's all got to do with their evaluation of the bowling they face.

Mmm... Maybe I'm still upset about Ponting being kicked out :(.
Still, Clarke will never last to be amongst greats like Ponting and Cook. Hopefully he gets kicked out as well, a taste of his own medicine ;).

Cook is a great? What?

Ponting was at the end of his career. Look at his age, look at his stats. Everyone knew it was coming and his reputation was the only thing keeping him in the team.

Sure.

Can you give us a replacement XI if you dislike the current one so much?

Also note that you dislike the "majority" of the team yet mentioned only 4 of the 11 players from the current Test side... k.

- Warner, Smith and Maxwell have superb technique. Just because they mark up runs fast, doesn't mean they're just slogging. It's all got to do with their evaluation of the bowling they face.

Nah they have pretty shit technique from a "proper" cricketing point of view LOL. But hey, whatever works for them! Nothing wrong with a bit of slogging if you can pick the gaps, wear down the new ball and grab some runs for your side! :D Agreed with you otherwise (Y)

Here comes my extremely unbiased preferred XI!  :D

Ed Cowan (C)(Ba)
Michael Lumb (Ba)
Jordan Silk (Ba)
Nic Maddison (Ba)
Peter Forest (Ba)
Michael Klinger (Ba)
Johan Botha (VC)(AR)
Daniel Smith (WK)(Ba)
Shaun Tait (Bo)
Doug Bollinger (Bo)
Gurinder Sandhu (Bo)
James Muirhead (Bo)

As you can see this team uses the traditional format. There is depth in both the batting and bowling department, and on paper looks like a formidable lineup :).
