Stuart MacGill was a more dangerous bowler than Shane Warne.

More dangerous? Maybe. Better? Definitely not.

He was better insofar as he more regularly took wickets.

Glad that the dispute between the CA and ACA is finally resolved. Will get to see the Aussies play the Bangladesh. :D

These thumping losses to India, and recent losses to Zimbabwe and Bangladesh (AT HOME!) has unfortunately marked Sri-Lanka's downfall in cricket. They are unfortunately a bottom tier team now like Zimbabwe and West-Indies which is a shame. I honestly think Sangakarra (who has been retired for two years) is still currently their best batsman - his county record shows it.

Sucks but on the bright side I think Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan are really emerging to become really exciting teams for the future.

Completely agree. I feel that there's no one in teams like Sri Lanka and West Indies who is the stand-out. They're all really average and they don't have players like the Kohli's, the Smith's or even the Warner's. None of their players really take on the game as if it's theirs.

Bangladesh is really improving of late and Afghanistan have quite surprisingly turned into a decent team. Pakistan is coming back, from a really low point in their history, but still keep their unpredictable status haha.

Well, Rahane has also made a hundred. Looks like another mammoth 1st innings total from India. :D

Sangakkara is possibly the best batsman I've ever seen play the game.

Better than Tendulkar, you think? I don't have a strong opinion, just curious.

Nathan Lyon I think is past his shelf life :(

He is like a  cannon with a wire that can work or not. His average speaks for itself.

Just some stats

IMO Sangakkara > Tendulkar.

Interesting to see Sangakarra's Test average is 57.4, while Tendulkar's is 53.8. Must admit I didn't realise there was so much of a difference, or that Tendulkar's dropped that much at the end of his career.

Sangakkara's record without the gloves is simply absurd.
