BLACKBERRY BOLD vs iPHONE 4

Quite self-explanatory.

Daddy's offerring me both options.

Automatically I shot-gun the Blackberry because it's gorgeous with the qwerty keyboard and sophistication.

Does anyone want to put in their 2c?

I guess a bit of background is:
I'm associated more with the 'corporate' or 'business woman' title hence I like the sleek and elegance of the Blackberry, and I don't really 'game' much unless it's that Brain Challenge or that Ninja Fruit game but I guess that's when I'm with other people.
I guess my question is whether that I should hold off on the Blackberry for another two years when I'm in 3rd year university or later?

Iphone 4 main disadvantages:
•Hardware design is prone to reception issues
•MicroSIM card support only
No Flash support in the web browser
•No true multitasking for all applications
•FaceTime video calls work only over Wi-Fi
No file transfer over Bluetooth or USB Mass Storage mode
•No hardware shutter key for the camera
•No FM radio
•No stereo speakers
•No microSD card slot
•No smart dialing
•Too dependent on iTunes for loading multimedia content
•Poor loudspeaker performance

Personally, I'd never buy it.

Since you're more of the business person type, I would recommend buying one of the new phones that have Windows Phone 7 installed. It's new and trendy, Blackberry is an outdated piece of technology. (Nokia is worse)

Take a look at these,

Hey, hey, hey! Calm down now children, the BB is pretty!

Wait does the BB have FM radio? That would be mad. Then again the iPhone is more about the applications, isn't it?

I'm associated more with the 'corporate' or 'business woman' title hence I like the sleek and elegance of the Blackberry, and I don't really 'game' much unless it's that Brain Challenge or that Ninja Fruit game but I guess that's when I'm with other people.
I guess my question is whether that I should hold off on the Blackberry for another two years when I'm in 3rd year university or later?

So many people have a Blackberry nowadays that it has lost its "businessperson" look. I have one and I'm hardly "corporate". The Bold still comes with a few games and you can buy more, just like iPhone apps.

Depends on what you need a phone for.

Edit: no it doesn't have an FM radio (that I know of *goes to check*)
Edit 2: can't find a radio function though it took me about 3 months to realise it had a stopwatch, so...

Thanks for the link - dad had an HTC when it was first introduced. I asked him, "What the hell is HTC?" Now it's quite well known which is funny.

I guess I wanted to say, people associate me with the persona. I would totally go for something like that if I had my own business but right now I've just graduated, but doing my last exam on Wednesday.

Wow wouldn't the gaming be difficult?

Not really... I guess you're thinking of iPhone type apps. The games mine came with are BrickBreaker, some word games, Klondike which is just Solitaire, Sudoku and poker (lol). I wouldn't really know how easy they are to play though since I'm not really a phone games person.

It's a good phone if you like to keep in touch / do work on the move - good browser, good email program, comes with a Google-maps-like GPS which helps because even though I work in the city I still get lost all the time, instant messaging, and it can read word/powerpoint/excel files (and if you're willing to pay a bit of money, you can create them on the phonet too - if not, there's a free Wordpad-like program you can use).

HTC phones are better though.

HTC - like having a laptop in your pocket?

Yep. You can create/edit/share word/powerpoint/excel documents and read .pdf's, amongst a whole other variety of options. (WP7 that is)

Android, anyone?

iPhone is for people (read:women) who want a phone and want to play games. Blackberry is for people (read:douches) who think they are important. WP7 is for people (read:geeks-who-call-themselves-developers) who want the capability of doing everything (until they realise it's a damn phone and you don't use a bloody phone to do those things). Android is for people (read:geeks-who-are-comfortable-with-being-geeks) whose life is so controlled by Google that the platform is designed by Google to have good integration with Google services.

And I, for one, welcome our Google overlords. I use an android phone.
