is umat more mathy or more englishy

section 2 requires a very good vocab, which i don't have.  there were a good half dozen questions which had answers that contained words which I was not familiar with, and was therefore screwed.

also, section 2 has massive amounts of reading, which MUST be read, so learn to read fictional passages quickly.

section 1 and 3 are more science/maths/logical reasoning...

damn it.
thats sounds more englishy + comprehendingshy.

That section destroyed me.  It was English comprehension exactly.  That is what they should call it actually.

And I don't know if making a vocab list will help all that much.

I made like a 10 page one, and it didn't help me at all.

Still try though :)

Read widely (popular fiction does not count as wide) and you'll be fine for section 2. It's not thaaat advanced/intimidating

Maybe it's changed. Hmmm, any examples? I'm curious now haha

I believe they made it harder.  I was doing quite well on MedEntry section 2, and then got a raw score of 43 in that section...fml

i remember the following stories
-patient cracks it at his psychiatrist because she has a limp
-crazy control freak boss lady, and whether or not she was 'sadistic'
-some weird conversation between a father and son about the sons wife/marriage/divorce
-stupid question on what to do about a girls hearing aids because the mother was angry that her daughter wasn't getting noticed for them.

it was all ambiguous rubbish which is unrealistic and measures nothing...

your best hope IMO is to do a shitload of section 3 practice, and try to get as close to 100%ile as possible in this.

if you're a math/science person then sec 1 should be good for you too, but I never really did well in the games/problem solving questions.  they were too difficult to solve in like a minute for me...

I can, but I never saw it as hard as in the actual UMAT  :(

MBBS, which question is this? (getting lost within the quotes...)

If question G, I would go with E simply on which shape the little circle is attached to: a triangle in E and circles in all of the others. I also take your angle point (makes sense as well), but I think the difference in E is greater.

Pretty weird question though, I'm not completely sure on the answer.

Yeh, G, I noticed the Triangle part also to confirm...  just what really first hit me was that it's angled, the others were horizontal or vertical. When I saw lines sticking out, I assumed that we would see a difference in the way it's pointing.
For example.

A Points at 12 O'Clock

B Points at 3 O'Clock

C Points at 6 O'clock

D Points at 11 O'clock.

I looked for that, then I noticed they were all horizontal or vertical, except E. I tried to prove it after that and the fact that it came off a triangle further confirmed it for me.

Just trying to explain my thinking.

Sounds similar to my year, but my memory ain't so great. Yeah it's ambiguous and has no direct correlation but...it has to be something. And cheer up, the GAMSAT is pretty objective, even S1 :)

D Points at 11 O'clock.

Didn't bother checking, but 11 o clock isn't vertical?

Thanks. :)

I was going to ask you for some sample GAMSAT stuff if you still have it?

I wasn't referring to that example just a sample pattern that I find is very common.
