Cheapest insurance company for young male drivers

I'm aware that some insurance companies refuse to insure you if you are/have:
1. young ie. 18-21
2. male
3. sports car
4. modified

I've only heard that Just Car Insurance will ensure those fitting the above 4 categories. The quote i obtained is some bs around 4.7k? (3.5k + 500 + 700?) i dunno how to read this thing. Is there any others around that is cheaper?
Thanks

I wasn't aware they could refuse to insure you but I'm not at all surprised by the high premium. Those 4 categories are pretty much the 4 highest risk categories for an accident. If you can, see if your parents insurance will extend to covering you with a higher excess. If not...well...it's expensive for a reason (whatever you do, get extended 3rd party cover)

The car is under my name, is my dad able to add my car in to his insurance and list me as a casual driver?
No, incase you are wondering, i'm not thinking of committing insurance fraud. Technically i am a casual/secondary driver as i'm only using it to get to and from uni.

Only to and from uni? In am modified sports car? I call bullshit.

Go get RACV, if you can afford to run a modded import, you can and most definitely should get a good comprehensive policy.

Or, you know, get a suitable car for your age.

Thinking of not adding my name at all... that way insurance is around 1000 on dads name alone due to gold + multi policy discount. If im unlucky and crash then itll be around 2500 excess... Just gotta drive careful eh? Bloody insurance companies... some quoting me around 8 thousand per year, fkn hoons

I think you mean 18 (the free2go thing?) as you can't get it under your name under 18. Also that is free roadside assist for a year if you are 18 and a high school student as well as the next 2 years half price.

If that is not what you meant, then sorry.

Ooh tell me more! When i bought the car, the dealer gave me one year free RACV roadside assist so i think i am a member of them. Half price of nearly 5k is still a lot though =/

Look, it's a bit crap but you're not going to find cheap insurance with that description of yourself and your transport.

They don't, that's why very few young people drive nice cars, and those who do are inadvertedly douchey snobs. :)
