What game are you most looking forward to next year?

Portal2 is a weak version of Portal1. The story in Portal2 isn't particularly engaging, the puzzles are interesting but suffer from incredible repetition. The atmosphere is really its strongest point, but I think DEHR does atmosphere just as well.

MW3 is COD and is crap because of it. It's a guilty pleasure, not something you hold up as the pinnacle of game design.

Batman AC will probably be a pretty solid contender and I'll reserve judgment until it's actually out. Based on what I've seen of it I wouldn't put it leagues ahead of DEHR

BF3 is a similar story to Batman but weaker.

Skyrim is probably going to be the main contender actually and it really comes down to how bad the quality at launch is

Apparently they've finished a majority of the game, though - hopefully, this means they'll have a lot of time for de-bugging and the like. But hey, what am I saying? As long as it's not another Fallout: New Vegas, I'm happy.

I have no idea what year this thread was referring to, so I'll just list the games I'm looking forward to that are coming out soon:

- Skyrim (don't have a computer that will run it though )
- Metal Gear Solid HD Collection
- Dark Souls
- Final Fantasy XIII-2
- Street Fighter vs Tekken (don't think they've announced a release date for this)
- Resident Evil 4 re-release (edit: apparently this is already released)
- Half Minute Hero XBLA rerelease (edit: apparently this is also already out)

I've barely touched video games this year, I'm going to put in the effort to get a few hours of gaming in on weekends after exams. I've got a few games that I've had for ages that I still need to finish off (FFXIII, Super Meat Boy, Psychonauts, Brutal Legend just off from the top of my head). I'm going to avoid purchasing more games until I finish off those before I go out and get like 3 more huge RPG games.

Yeah, that's my plan. FFXIII is my priority, only got a couple of chapters left. I just don't want to get obsessed with exams upcoming :/

Just don't do what I did on the first couple of days of holidays in regards to F1 2011. Friday night: "I need a break, I'll only play it for tonight, saturday and sunday". Monday: "Only one more day, I derserve it, I've overworked all year". Tuesday: "Last day I promise". 8 hours later and still sitting in the same chair. Wednesday morning "Cough, Cough, splutter, sneeze". Had a visit to the doctors that afternoon. Thusday: One day before my school practice exams start and I hadn't started any work on the holidays and couldn't efficiently study as I was sick with fever. Saturday: Procrastingating like mad. Sunday i.e. Now: Cramming like crazy for Chemistry and Physics practice exam tomorrow.

Let that be a lesson to everyone.

Dammit, I have a 360. I don't really intend on shelling out for a Vita either. Too bad they're not going for the multi-platform trend here.

I think I will have to convince someone to lend me their PS2 so that I can play FFX and FFXII properly (don't worry, I haven't been too deprived, it's really only the PS2 FF games I've missed out on, I've played FF1 to FF9).

Haha that's not too bad. I bought my Ps3 for the sole purpose of playing FFXIII. I think i've only got 1 other game for the console.

And you must play FFX as soon as possible My absolute favourite, I've racked up thousands of hours over the years playing it

on another note, i only have to wait a month and a bit for FIFA 12 on ipad to be reduced on sale

Unless you're really efficient with your studying already, reduce your procrastination time and replace it with gaming time once a week or something

in theory that's great... in reality... if i play dota i do no school work at all... that's why i've deleted it about 10 (literally) times this year

I prefer half a life myself - it was a much more groundbreaking game. Still waiting for the third installment.
