Do Eurovisions with me next year! (Yes, I'm actually doing it!) :D
Yesssss I completely forgot about Eurovisions! I can't do it as my breadth (cos Arts) but I'm writing up an Excel document atm to see how I can fit it into my study plan  :P

I was kinda interested in doing School Experience as Breadth next semester but I just looked at the 2016 handbook and apparently they're changing the assessment for next year so 80% of your grade is made up of group assignments.

lol gg I'm outtie

Damn, the group presentation they're talking about was a non-assessed hurdle requirement this year, and the final essay was solo. I can't imagine writing an essay/report in a group, wtf?

I'm thinking of doing Street Art as a breadth subject next year; anyone here done it? Looks pretty good & no exam (literally my pre-requisite for a breadth subject). I'm thinking of doing Sports Coaching third year: might also do a breadth subject during the winter, getting one out the way for semester 2.
2013-2014: VCE

I'm planning on doing Communicating Science and Technology! (semester 2) if anyone is interested. I am quite keen.

Anyone ever applied for a special consideration?

How long does it take before they say if they will accept it or not? And will a note from the GP do?

its usually a few weeks before you find out if you get it or not and if its for a medical reason you have to get your doctor to fill out a HPR form to hand in with your application which is pretty much what they base their decision on. but other doctors notes are good evidence to hand in on top of the HPR

Yeah, it's for a medical reason. I've been throwing up all today and I have an 8am exam tomorrow.

Where do I actually apply for it? Is it through my.unimelb? EDIT: found the link for it. Btw Is it just me or is AN running slow today?

Also, if you or anyone else has applied to one before, do you think this will be a sufficient enough scenario to get special consideration? Not only am I feeling sick at the moment, but I am also worrying that I may not get it.

Btw, I'm not sure what you mean when you said:

Do you mean a couple of weeks after I submit I find out if I got it or not?

im thinking it would be sufficient to qualify for it, just go doctors today and get a note and then print out the hpr and get them to fill it out
and ye usually its a few weeks after you apply you find out whether you qualified for special consideration or not

Okay, thanks heaps for your help. Really appreciate it.
I'll go to the doctors tomorrow because I am going back to my hometown anyway. I'll go see my actual GP and lodge my application then.

I don't need to see the Student Union do I? Or in fact, anyone? It's all done online, right?

Thanks again for your help, I'm just the sort of person that will have this in the back of my mind all night and during the exam.

Yeah the application form is done online. It isn't necessary to see someone from the Student Union but if you are having complications or need help appealing the decision(which is literally the worst case scenario, improbable circumstances) then UMSU's Advocacy department can help you out. http://umsu.unimelb.edu.au/need-help/advocacy/special-consideration/

Does anyone have answers they've written to the research-based phys exam (phys20009)? I found this thread from last year (PHYS20009 Past exams) and pm'd some people but thought it might be useful to post here for wider coverage as time is running out!

Less than a week to go for me, I have all the time in the world to slack off after exams, may as well put in the hard yards now.
2012-2014. BSc: Neuroscience. University of Melbourne.
2015-2018. Doctor of Optometry. University of Melbourne.

Unlikely to respond to any PMs these days.

Hey! It is hard to stay motivated

I'm basically putting a count down in front of me every time I study.

So for example today, I stuck a paper on my wall and it says ''3 days to go... don't stop now..... nearly there''.

And tomorrow it will be ''2 days to go... blah blah''

That's been helping me out. I know how you feel, I feel absolutely burnt out. But might as well put in the hard yards in now, and then earn that 4 month holiday.

Best of luck!! We are nearly there!!! First year nearly over :D.!
