Oh damn, I thought I just messed up the exam!!
(I calculated that I got like 60% on the exam with my mark from the essay and prep doc marks lmaoo)
Makes a lot more sense now... Did they provide any exact figures?
I should've investigated this... But the marks came out so late in sem 2 and I was swamped by my other subjects and just accepted it
And honestly, I was satisfied with H2A but I was chasing that H1 (easy H1 subject from reviews? lmao)
I wrote a review on the subject this year (so granted it wouldn't have been there when you were deciding whether to take the subject) and I really need to go edit it. It's so interesting because at the moment I'm looking at the review going 'yeah I enjoyed it, it was great fun' but the more sinister side of me believes the marking scheme is so disproportionately unfair that the subject shouldn't be run - all stemming from the fact I put 2 weeks of sollllliiiidddd effort into assessment to only receive H2A.
There was a lot of misinformation that came to light with the results being revealed - especially the fact that my tutor had marked my essay as if it were an academic journal, yet the lecturer said it is not an academic exercise but rather a reflective (albeit requiring small research) one.
I'm not sure what good inspecting would have done though - my friend was told (by his tutor) that he specifically should not inspect it because his is likely to be marked down. Anyway morale of the story is I need to update my review to ensure people are aware of the marking. As an aside, is it too late to email to review it now....?
Edit: I should add, I'll be doing tax law 1, business finance and ifa2 reviews in the coming week for all you commerce students
