You can probably shortcut reproduction by just memorizing the hormone diagram loop of FSH/LH etc.

Went to an information session for the GIP today and I was the only one there with the two coordinators/presenters. Pretty awks. I was pretty surprised that literally no one else turned up haha.

that's really funny, so melbourne uni doesn't have any applicants for it's Global Issues Program. I wonder what that means for Universitas 21?

Pigs fly. But seriously, what do you think happens given that attendance at lectures is not compulsory?

the problem is for a subject i have stopped going to lectures because i dont understand what is going on so instead im doing all the required readings and taking thorough notes doing so

will i be screwed for the exam?
im pretty much disregarding lectures and instead just using the text book?

am i ****d?

...Read the lecture slides dude. They convey a good sense of what will be examined.

lol how can you understand the textbook, do pre-readings and take notes but at the same time not understand anything in the lectures??? Often times the textbook delves deeper than the lectures themselves -.-

it's not a very smart thing to do since your exams are based off the lecture slides.

Most likely yes since it appears you won't know what is meant to be known in class and may have focussed on learning the wrong things in a text book. How have you found assignments and homework problems in the subject, they will be a good gauge of whether you know the material or not.

You should not give up. You should look over lecture notes and lecture videos/audio. Attend tutorials and consultation times.

Out of curiosity, for which subjects is this the case?

ive been trying to just go through the text book and do all the readings

I went to about 1 out of every 3 Chem 1 lectures and didn't go to any Chem 2 lectures at all. I also didn't go to any of the tutes for either subject, and my revision was just reading off the lecture slides and the textbook. I went through the lecture slides, got an idea of the amount of depth I needed to go into, then read parts of the textbook accordingly. I ended up getting H1s in both subjects - so no, I don't think you should give up, just make sure you're able to relate what you've learnt from the textbook back to the lecture slides.

But yeah, I guess it does depend on the subject. I know for sure that I wouldn't be able to do something like that^ for a subject like anatomy, so it is very risky.

Since there are 20 days left till your exam, and there are about 22 or so quantitative methods 1 lectures, if you don't think the textbook is teaching you adequately or efficiently enough, you could watch one or two lectures a day up until the exam if you're really that dedicated, or at the very least watch the ones that cover the topics you're struggling with the most. Definitely don't give up. You'd be surprised how well you could do if you put in that little bit extra over the next three weeks. A lot of university students lose hope when SWOTVAC approaches so you're definitely not alone.

Trust me, if you cram enough you can still pull through with pretty high scores.

For Biochemistry, does anyone think we have to know the Watson Crick Model for B-DNA in detail?
-Most of the stuff they say is covered in the lecture, and I am not exactly sure what we need to know.
