I feel so creepy and ninja using the 'hide online status' option for this forum.

If you study 3 subjects in semester 1 and 2 subjects semester 2, are you still considered a full time student? (I want to know for Tertiary concession for public transport... I ain't paying full fee for fares....)

Yes; anything 75% or above the regular courseload is considered full-time.

Do you know if taking 75% automatically qualifies you as full time for the whole year or is it only for the semester you've taken 3+ subjects?

Whoops, sorry! Didn't see you were taking 2 in semester 2. You would be full-time in the first semester and part-time in second semester. The 75% is in accordance with a conversation I had with Centrelink awhile ago, and other universities. I believe it applies generally.  http://study.une.edu.au/app/answers/detail/a_id/949/~/types-of-students

Pretty sure it's a cash prize! There are subject prizes for only a few subjects though.

God I hope they scale up the marks for ZOOL20006 within the following week, not the first time I felt the pain of a 79...

Is it possible to do an internal transfer from B.Arts to B.Com after studying for a year?

Yes. You can transfer after one semester as well. If you plan on doing Arts next year but might transfer into Commerce, I would strongly recommend that you do 3 level 1 Arts subjects AND 1 Commerce subject as breadth (do Intro Micro). That way, if you do transfer after one semester, your Arts subjects can count as breadth in your Commerce degree, and your Intro Micro counts as one of the core subjects in Commerce.

Ah thanks. What is the transfer process like? What kind of grades will you need to get?

A friend of mine did this successfully (she did Intro Micro as breadth) after one semester, however I recall her saying something about the Commerce faculty not recognising the credit points from the Arts Foundation subject she completed in first semester (which all Arts students are required to complete in first year). If you're thinking of transferring after a semester, perhaps just ensure that you pick a second semester Arts Foundation subject?

Pretty sure you'll need to apply via VTAC and have at least 75% average. They might look at ATAR as well. But they might offer you a place even if you have lower than anticipated scores, on the basis of what they call a 'false start' to university.

What do you mean by "false start"?
