I recently heard from my friends in US that students can actually attend lectures without being officially enrolled in it (audit). I wonder if it's also okay for us here in the university to do that? There are several subjects which I find myself quite interested for hobby like history.

You can't possibly be caught really, unless it is a small class.
I am thinking about doing that  ;)

There's no one stopping you since there is no roll call in lectures. If you sit there and listen I doubt anyone would know!

Great! I'll do so then given free time sometimes in the semester. I really want to see the lectures on medieval history.

I crashed about five of my friends' MBB2 lectures and -studied German with a textbook open- where the lecturers could see me, and there was no issue. You should be fine :)

In Chemistry there always used to be this RMIT kid who would sit in front of me, doing his RMIT eng work. The hate was visceral.

You can but a) there's no point since it's too far past a first year level to be useful and b) they're already sitting in the aisles due to overcrowded lecture theatre, so please don't lol
