I just wrote an enormous, exhaustive subject review, then managed to backspace accidentally just as I finished and lost half of it. FFFFFFFF

And it went back a page, rather than just deleting the text. :'(

Hey guys, how do summer/intensive subjects work? I'm kinda looking to fill in some credit points and am wondering whether or not this is the best way to do breadth subjects

Animal Structure and Function. I usually write it like that first, but I was at the library and wrote it impulsively :( bad decision!

Just like a normal subject taken during semester 1 or 2, but done at a faster pace - often involves more contact hours every week

Ah ok. Would it be possible to do 2 summer subjects and still do well in both of them?

Ummm it's possible, but it really does depend on a number of things e.g. the amount of time you're willing to spend on the subjects, the difficulty of the subjects and the subsequent time commitment required to do well...

You have to remember that the summer semester subjects are generally done double speed (there are exceptions e.g. Finance 1 is taken triple speed, to the best of my knowledge), and so you really do have to work quite hard to stay on top of the content and keep up with the pace. If you choose your subjects well and cater to your own strengths, and are willing to invest the time and effort, there shouldn't be a reason that you can't do well. However, I wouldn't underestimate the kind of commitment summer subjects require, they're really easy to fall behind in.

Thanks very much for this :) I might undertake commerce electives and mathsy breadths in summer which are subjects suited to my strengths.

Would finance 1 be undertaken at triple-speed because it's a "January" subject as opposed to a regular summer subject?

Yep, the lecturer that takes it in semester 1, isn't great. At all.
The summer lecturer is awesome.

It would be nigh insane though. Summer subjects are really hard.

Finance 1 is done at triple the speed but even with that it has been one of the easiest subjects i have done so far. Finance during summer is a lot better b/c the one during the semester just drags on and on from what friends have said
