From the subject review thread

OMFG this is the dream class! I live for musical theatre :D The lack of Les Mis/POTO is saddening though... I definitely will consider this next year.

I know!! It looks like an excellent subject, however, I'm not sure about the performance aspect....

I'm so glad people are thinking of taking it! It's brilliant :) and, if it helps, the performance this year was only in front of ~30 people, and they all were there for a particular person so they weren't concentrating on you anyway.

I'd much prefer public speaking to be honest hahaha, but it really does look like a fun subject if I'm completely honest

It probably has something to do with the fact that neither of these is a rock musical ;)

But then again, neither is Wicked I guess...

Haha well apparently Les Mis is a 'contemporary' show so anything is possible really.

Speaking of which though I saw the Australian production last night and it was freaking fantastic. Everyone needs to go.

Yeah Hayden Tee definitely stole the show (along with the Thénardiers omg)...but you're kidding yourself if you think there's a better Javert anywhere than Philip Quast ;)

BHH was probably the best moment of the entire show, quite the performance, especially as I thought Simon Gleeson had been somewhat lacking vocally up until that point. Don't even get me started on Euan Doidge though, I'm still trying to block his Marius out of my memory. It was almost Jonas bad (but nothing is actually Jonas bad).

The 25th anniversary production is pretty much unequivocally awful haha, or at least the British leg was. I dunno about the projection, I thought it was a bit tacky other than in those two scenes that you've mentioned and even then it felt a bit contrived, though I can see why they did it.

I totally agree regarding the ensemble though, that was one of the absolute highlights. They kept wowing me throughout. The set design was also pretty fabulous.

At level 1... orrrr?
Principles of Business Law is always a good one, I really enjoyed it. Music Language 1 is also good fun if you have a music background.
If you're not doing commerce, I'd highly recommend introductory microeconomics, you can find heaps of reviews for it on the subject reviews thread.
Best advice I can give you is to go with your strengths and interests.

I'm considering introductory microeconomics, despite my horrible experience of a bad economics teacher in year 12.....

I wouldn't worry about your high school experience too much, from what I've heard the courses are quite different (I never took high school economics)
But yeah, I highly recommend it, it was one of my favourite subjects last year.

I do Italian, but it's not really possible to enter in during semester 2. :/ But it's a great breadth track! Check out my Italian review if you're curious. :)
