How does subject scaling work? Is it for all subjects or just a few? In particular, first year physics...

Don't know how it works but I don't think I could have got a H1 if it wasn't scaled.. :S

Omg you know how some people (organised people) say 'make a list of all the things you need to do and then you will feel more calm about it.
WELL I JUST MADE A LIST.
AND NOW I FEEL LIKE I'M GOING TO DIE OF A HEART ATTACK BECAUSE THERE ARE 33 THINGS ON IT TO DO BY TUESDAY.
Why do I take people's advice?

You can totally do it! Try and get 8 things done each day. Actually, aim for 10. Last day can be revision.

To those freaking out about Biology:

Make sure you know how to do 3 point test cross questions (map distances etc) and Hardy-Weinberg questions. There will almost definitely be one of each from Dawn. And make sure you know about the 5 H-W factors and how they affect allelic frequencies.

Rick will have a section B section really similar to Q1 Section B in the sample exam where he covers all the little bits and pieces of info about the little Protist groups. At no point have we been given a sample question about parts of a flower but we did do a whole prac on it so might be worth learning.

Hard to know what Therese will ask but if you learn the main table (it's a worksheet in our Lab Books) that breaks down each phyla into:
Subclasses
Symmetry Bilateral or Radial?
Diplo or triploblastic?
Ceolomate or a coelomate?
Blastopore- mouth or anus first?
Segmentation Y/N
Body plan diagram
Special features

If you know that you are well on your way to being able to get through a lot of Therese's stuff.

Well if you really want to, you could do that.

But studying all year long is not really healthy and somtimes you just need a break. And you get jealous when your friends are at the beach but you are studying at uni :( It's not like 4 subjects a semester is a lot of work. Australia gets it easy! In other countries you have to do 8 subjects a semester lol

Im only taking a level 1 subject and its 3 days a week, 3 hours a day for a month and even then i can just watch the lectures at home if i really want to. Plus it lightens my load in 3rd year and the subject doesnt start until half way through January so i thought why not?

Yea it's fine if you don't mind.

I just went through chemistry 2 over the summer and it was very painful lol. I had to revise so much for the exam and then semester 1 started like 1 week after :(

i thought it starts like less than a week after new years day..
