I have to send someone something to prove that I am a full time student, with my name on it. Like a confirmation of enrolment or something similar.

Does anyone have any idea of what I could send to prove this?

Is there anything on the portal that I could use?

Thanks for the help, but I'm trying to find something that I don't have to pay $25 for.
I don't understand why I should have to pay just for something that says I'm a full time student-shouldn't it just be on the portal somewhere?

I'm not certain, but the link I gave you is from the portal. You can see it on the enrollment tab.

The public transport concession form does show whether you are full or part time, maybe that could work?

When must we pay our Student Services and Amenities fee by?
If you want you can defer the SSAF onto HECS.

Excellent idea, this works. Let's hope they accept it. Thanks  :)

Hello guys,

As I'm relatively new to the city, what can you say about the security of the campus area (Parkville) in general? Are the streets safe during night time? e.g Swanston, Lygon, Grattan.. etc.
The streets seem pretty safe to me. I live on Lygon street and regularly walk home from work (melbourne central) between 1-3 am and have never had an issue. Occasionally if I'm walking along swanston/lygon street around 11pm or so, I'll get drunken cat calls but theres always a lot of people around that time and i've never felt in *danger* or anything like that.
Also, theres always campus security patrolling at night. It doesn't extend to lygon street, but I used to live near the spot and i wouldnt be able to walk from campus home without passing security. :)

I think the Carlton/Parkville area would be quite safe as far as urban areas go - there's always quite a few people around, especially given the proximity to Cardigan/Lygon/Swanston/Victoria/Grattan Sts at all times. Campus security are also always pretty present.

Living in almost the same place as scribble and being a night owl who likes to take walks at 2 am I can confirm that the Carlton/Parkville area is very safe on the whole. Late at night (like after 1 am) it's very quiet, but the streets are well-lit, open and carry sound well, so I wouldn't say there's much danger of being assaulted without notice even if there WAS someone after you :P Also, most of the crime in Carlton is petty crime; if you don't go into dark alleyways or linger in Tin Alley I seriously doubt you'll run into trouble. Lygon and Swanston are especially safe due to their light levels and openness, and there are usually a few night-shift workers around (which might help deter people from assaulting you).

when i lived around the spot, the streets (berkeley/barry) were super dead at night. like i would almost never see people on my way home. which i guess could be kind of eerie/scary (my flatmates were often worried walking home) but i found it nice actually.

I thank you guys for your views on the streets of Parkville. It certainly makes me feel less nervous now, though I don't think I'm a night person at all. If the sun sets I usually think twice before going out unless something very urgent needs to be attended to.

Look, you have to have your wits about you regardless of where you are. Nowhere is 100% safe. And while some places are definitely safer than others in Melbourne, I would regard the city overall as relatively safe. :)

haha i can totally understand feeling uncomfortable walking around at night. especially since my old street looked pretty dodgy. XD there was a construction site right outside and barely any street lights. then again the light pollution in the area is so bad that the sky always looks fairly bright, even when its the middle of the night.
