I have been in love with The University of Newcastle since seeing their coat of arms for the first time. We have the angel 'Victory' alongside the Southern Cross. They have a mermaid horse suffering from tardive dyskinesia.

He's so beautiful

What?

I'm confused. :S I thought the question was referring to Sheldon in The Big Bang Theory. If she was asking me if my real name is Sheldon, then the answer is no (most people here know my first name anyway). :P

I was just amazed that you don't watch the Big Bang Theory. I swear that's sacrilegious or something...

Part of me does wish I didn't...

Also, sometimes in bio pracs there would be amazing people who bring a box of gloves.. so you could look for one of those people.

I found one of those amazing people today in fact! He let me use the extra pair he brought, so I was happy  :)

UoM would have this title if we didn't have so many "elitist wankers".

Yeah that one's more condescending than amusing. I think the uni pride is fine until the talking down become systematic.

Biochem lmao
One of the answers was something like "a LINE transposon inserted into a clotting factor gene can cause the genetic disease haemophilia", because this is relevant to the course and science overall in many ways.

Man.. That was hard ;/
Do you know what the answer to qn 2 was? Regarding b DNA and the two choices I wasn't sure about were how the major and minor groove are formed, and the phosphate group and pka n:(

I picked E (the pKa one), because I'm fairly sure it was correct. I was also unsure about the formation of the minor/major groove :/
What I learned from the test today: memorise every word Irene has ever uttered :v

Thank God!! I got E as well, but what threw me off a little was the wording of some of it. Some of the answers were really ambiguous. Like on ,ecture slides it says pka ~0 but on the answers it said pka=0 etc LOL i get really self conscious about that stuff :(

Btw the CEDB mark distribution!

Haha, that poor person who got 16/45 :( I feel genuinely sad, there's a little green spike on the graph and then nothing else near it. You can tell the CEDB students care at least a little bit about their work, though - BCMB has people who get marks as low as <10% for the subject every year, which baffles me. Also, did nobody get 45, or is it just me?
