" I regret to advise that after a thorough and considered approach to selection your application was unsuccessful.

The number of applications far exceeded the grants available. This has resulted in many students missing out although their circumstances clearly indicated that they were in financial need."

Really?  I was always under the impression you had to have at least one semester left.  You need to study at least 37.5 points (definitely true).  You can't take extra subjects overseas because you pay normal fees here.  Having one subject left when you get back would be fulfilling the requirement, so long as you took the equivalent of three Melbourne subjects overseas (keep in mind that may be more or less than three there).

My friend had to do that subject here to fulfil her major or something. I know she even did fewer subjects than I did overseas (so I was at the normal of subjects and she had one or two fewer subjects than me, I forget)... we went to the same university on exchange.

In other words, exchange is more flexible than they let on.
Graduated in 2011.

Bachelor of Science at Melbourne. Biological Science subjects.

I can either presume you did 'normal number of subjects' ie 50 points and she took 37.5, therefore still a full load and following the rules, or she got an exemption because of the major requirements.  However, nobody should bank on being allowed to take less than 37.5 points overseas.  If everyone were able to cheat the system I doubt the rule would exist.

Yeah, I got this too. Immediately felt dreadful for the people who did get the grants, knowing that they're worse off than me.

Good luck for your exam timetables tomorrow, everyone! Hopefully they've changed exams back to a three-week time period this semester...

On the topic of nutrition, I'm way too happy/emotional that my lecture notes for Lecture 14: Vitamins are this neat for once. It's just so well organized, I want to weep everywhere

Are the 8:30 exam starts over?
It was gruelling last year to have an 8:30 exam followed by a 4:30 one on the same day -_-

Oh hey this is my first post in 2 weeks :O

Sorry, but the spacing is different for the first few lines at the top. Also my favourite Vitamin, old Vit B6 (favourite because isoniazid depletes it causing peripheral neuropathy <3), has it's title overlapped with the lesser Pathetic Pantothenic Acid and the letter 'p' in the description is overlapped by Riboflavin. Not happy.
