Yeah in 2nd year I literally only hung around Sidney Myer for the whole time.

In 3rd year I've pretty much relocated to the Doherty and today was legit my first time taking the tram from Swanston St all semester.

Doherty is the building opposite the medical building correct? I thought that place was only used for research. The bottom floor makes it look really important because it has a myki like system to get in. I'm excited now since I'm planning on doing the same major as you are!

Yeah, that's the one. Most of the building is used for research - you can only go through those barriers if you're doing a research subject, or you're an honours/PhD student etc. I can't even go through them. But there is a library if you go up the stairs as well as some seminar rooms.

With coffee and adequate sleep the night before, maybe 6 lectures properly, 8 probably with adderall (jk).

I would love me some adderall right about now.

Someone told me medicine offers came out... Not sure if this is true, but I really hope everyone who was applying got what they wanted!

I think this is a suitable time for me to take a minute and acknowledge all those third year Biomedicine students here on ATARNotes for all the help. From the very bottom of my heart, thank you. There is no way I would've adjusted to university and done so well with my assessments if it hadn't been for your guidance and wisdom from the very beginning. I can only hope to continue following in your footsteps and helping out those in the years below me. I really hope you all achieve your academic goals and have rewarding careers ahead of you, because you absolutely deserve it. Enjoy your final couple of weeks of undergrad, and please continue to visit this forum and share your future university experiences! :')

I don't dispute that anatomy's useful, but, to borrow your analogy, you don't need to go to uni to learn how to read a road map...

But the "road map" isn't always as nicely defined as you'd expect it to be. It's not as if everyone has a textbook body, so knowing what to look out for in terms of anatomical variation is important (eg. an artery not where it's supposed to be) -- and it's something that you do learn at uni. And in third year, having a surgeon in the prac class run through anatomical variation is really useful. Plus, an understanding of embryology is important in being competent with anatomy, which again is something that is taught.

Simulations for domestic offers haven't been finished yet - most people are expecting next week, but it should be released by 2nd of November. The anxiety is real.

Before I stop posting I have to write a very rage-filled long rant about Frontiers so prepare yourself haha. Thanks though.

Fucking hell. Don't do this shit to me guys.

I should just point out everyone, the anti-anatomy stuff is just banter. So if you've got the impression I'm taking myself really seriously, I'm not!

There are plenty of interesting things to learn in anatomy and I certainly don't dispute the fact that a lot of people find that fascinating. I know that, particularly among life science students, I'm well and truly in the minority disliking anatomy.
