from the way the discussion goes on this thread, i may very well be alone in this, but i really really hate watching/listening to lectures LOL
i get through content much much quicker if i just read slides and make notes on them, and maybe read the textbook + occasional readings here and there. im basically just way too impatient to watch lecture recordings and end up listening for 5 seconds, skipping forward 5 minutes, deciding hes just reading off the slides then skipping forward another 5 minutes, etc. so KUDOS to people who have the patience to sit down and listen to lectures :D .
for some lectures (especially in commerce), it is possible to read through the slides, make all the relevant notes, and properly understand the ideas, in 20 minutes, as opposed to watching a 1 hour lecture and having to rewatch it/make notes later.

in other news whose keen for a mid sem break in 30 days.. LOL

Hey guys,
Monash student invading.

I'm sure (at least some) of you know im doing my honours at a hospital research institute.

Recruiting people is really hard (especially since its mostly be confined to Monash so far).

I was wondering if any of you knew if UoM had a stalkerspace equivalent where i could make a post (all i can find are confessions) ?

On the off chance anyone would like to participate, that'd be great (it's about contraception and mood so you have to be female, you don't need to take anything as part of it).

How can you do this when some subjects have lecture slides with 2-3 brief points and really can't be understood without lecturer explaining?
I think it depends on the subject.

Are there any subjects which offer camps throughout the year as part of the subject (particularly 1st year subjects)?

For anyone that did intro to micro previously, with assignment one, whats the correlation with marks and how many words you wrote.
It says there is a 1000 word limit, and there are 5 questions, but im struggling to even break 650 words. Anymore, and I feel like I'm adding bs. Its an assignment that doesn't require any external resource, and its more exam style rather then assignment like. is the 1000 word limit merely a limit, or is it a target?

we dont have an active stalkerspace like monash do really, just confessionspace and lots of private groups (eg; biomed class of x, first year commerce 2016, etc.)

Is it just Thursday classes that have been affected? I only have one class tomorrow and I wouldn't normally go in for it, but I don't want to be left without a recording. :|

Just a reminder for those of you taking the Pakenham/Cranbourne line to uni, the line cuts off at Hughesdale for the next 4 weeks or so, as they build the sky rail. So you'll have to bus it to Caulfield and train again...
Best to plan ahead as hefty delays are expected.

I'm not sure where you got this from? Carnegie and Murrumbeena stations are closing for a month, but the line remains open.

One of the main advantages of Skyrail is avoiding the month-long disruptions that they had on the Frankston line.
