hey guys,
I'm finally doing BLAW10001 & I'm starting to hear a few horror stories about the subject being harder than everyone thought, and that a lot of people get mediocre results.

I'm not gonna lie -- I need to get my WAM up -- so anything that is typically 'hard' to get at least a H2A in I won't even attempt unless I have to. (I know that mindset is wrong but I'm trying to prepare for the future)

is it really that hard to do well? It's only week 1 but I'm finding it interesting and I'll put the effort in, although I don't want to bomb out on an exam worth 80% :/

it's the easiest subject i've done at uni but you still need to put effort into it. do your readings and e-tutes every week. since lectures are not recorded, try to write down stuff that the lecturer said but are not in the slides.

bloody hell i haven't got my actual sup exam results for summer sem back, and on my transcript it only shows fail grades (as I didn't sit the actual initial exam) which affects my WAM in turn. this is a real problem when applying for internships, as my WAM is showing way lower than it actually is...

You'll have to find replacement tutes for the subjects you miss out on. Your lecturers should say something about this 2 weeks from the break so don't stress.

Back when I was in first year it would take no longer than 30-45 minutes to upload. It was really consistent as well. But since last year for an unknown reason the system has been horrible, as LRGG said sometimes they are quick, sometimes they take days. Sometimes you can't even access lecture capture - so you should download them as soon as you see them come out.

The reason is well known. As of last year lecture recording become opt-out rather than opt-in and, as a result, the load on the system has greatly increased.
