Aerospace anyone?

Here on Atarnotes, there seems to be a surprisingly high number of people either currently doing aerospace engineering or planning on doing it in the future. So whos in? Why did you pick/are planning on doing this course? Was it because of a love for science, maths or anything else?

haha what a coincidence. well ive always enjoyed maths and problem solving so engineering is a no brainer. As to why im planning on doing aerospace is because it seems to be the most exciting(to me anyway) In the end though all branches of engineering overlap in some way. i hear aerospace is quite similar to mechanical eng. for example.

i chose aero/science coz aero eng gives me real life problem solving skills and science feeds my need for theory stuff. also aero>all other eng coz you  learn structures(civil), dynamics(mechanical) and who doesnt like to learn about aircrafts :P

I've always been interested in airplanes/space shuttles/F1, basically anything that involves high speed. However, I had actually been planning for the better part of my life to head into Actuarial Studies/commerce. (Parents played a huge role here)

My decision swapped from the commerce sector into Aerospace Eng within a day, to be more precise, during the morning that I came to Monash Open day. I went to the Aerospace intro. presentation, then proceeded to talk to the professor for over half and hour. He completely changed my mindset, and I left Monash convinced that I will do what I enjoy most, that being Aero Eng.

I strongly encourage you to come to Monash Open day this Sunday, talk to the lecturers, and see if you really do feel passionate about the course.

Yeh I've been monash open day for the last two years and coming this Sunday too. Hoping to try and catch one of Burkard Polster's sessions when there is nothing on. The windtunnel tour is still happening this year right?
