Ranking/study score- please help!

Could someone please explain this.....

Let's say I get the bottom rank for sacs, but get A+ on the end of year exam and the person who gets rank 1 gets a C (the lowest exam mark in the class), does this mean, rank one will get my A+? And then I will get the C?

Bit confused with how rankings work, and my teacher didn't explain it very well...

that's what i've been brought to believe
lowest ranked person in sacs will get the lowest exam mark for their SACs
so you would get
GA 1  C
GA 2  C
GA 3 A+

If it helps I'm talking about Accounting. I got all A+ for unit 3 and on the exam, effed up my SAC last week because I was sick; and everyone in my class of 4 people got higher than me.

ah well your lucky its accounting, only plays a role in 1 GA
so rank 1 managed a C on the exam?
Im not 100% clear on how this work either, but since its a small cohort, your teacher may take ur illness into consideration and bump you up a bit. It's not legit, but they do that.
don't worry too much, was it your last SAC? Or do you have any more left? remember, its the sac ranking over the whole semester, not just 1 SAC

Sorry, didn't explain that very well. I was rank 1 for unit 3 and top of the class (A+) for the exam. The kid who will prob get rank 1 (was rank 4 in unit 3) for unit 4 got a C on unit 3 exam and will prob get the same on the end of year exam...
He will probably let me resit it, but he will make the rankings stay the same. Is there a point in resiting it if I will still have the bottom rank?

Still have another SAC this coming week.
Do they add up all the scores for all Unit 4 SACs to determine the ranking? Or do they take it individually from each SAC?

hey you'll be fine, try to make the most of your next SAC, preferably try to ace it.
Are your SACs easy? How does this guy get rank 1 and C's on exam?
And yes they add up all the unit 4 SACs to determine rankings its not an individual thing, and i THINK, when they determine your SAC GA, it is an average of your unit 3 and 4
you can still get a great score for accounting, just try to make the most of what you can.

Nah, SACs aren't super easy IMO...He tries to make them the same level as exams; if thats anything to go by... Its just because everyone else went extra shit.... and he was slightly better and was therefore able to get the best mark and rank...
Do you think there is a point in resitting the last SAC, if my ranking will remain the same?
fml

Also, are the rankings different for unit 3 and unit 4? Or are Accounting rankings determined from both units?

Dont bother resitting it if the ranks stay the same, you'll just be wasting your time.

I think subjects where there is 1 GA for sacs have the ranks based on all the sac marks for the year i.e. both units 3+4

Yep, both u3 and u4 combined.

That's why it's so important to maintain consistency.

There is no point being rank1 for [u3] and relaxing...then end up with rank 20 for [u4]

if he only did slightly better, try to ace your next SAC, and youll probably get your rank back.

If you're ranked nth for sacs, then the nth best exam score in your cohort becomes your sac score for that subject.

Is this confirmed? Because my friends brother finished 2nd in sacs for methods and got A+ on both exams (rank 1 also got A+) but only got an A for sac marks.

Also, does any one know if this is true? My teacher was saying the other day that if you finished with a pretty average rank (say 20th) but then do much better than a lot of those above you then VCAA may move your rank up?

I thought it was true, but confirmation would be nice?

and yeah, im fairly sure that vcaa can amend sac marks if they dont match..
