To all UoM Psych'rs and/or previous UoM Enhancement Psych members:

I am considering uptaking this subject next year after having completed Psych 3/4 this year.

I have a few q's though.

1. How hard would it be to maintain a 90 avg? What sort of effort?
2. Is the exam generally hard? Format?
3. Is there much research methods? :/

ty.

PS - so this is in relation to Mind Brain and Behaviour sem1-2. (first year psych!)

did you end up finding conclusively whether its increment or percentage?

if its percentage i do not suggest to do this as risk > reward

90+ avg gives 5/5

80-90 avg gives 4.5/5

I wouldn't do it unless you're happy with a 4.0 as an increment because 5.0 for 90+ is a really big ask

I don't think I'd get less than 4.5 (avg 80) - after all, it's Psych. People get 5.5 atm for Uni Maths (80avg)...

..and that's hard. It's maths. >.>

The main assessment is the exam I'm assuming though?

If i can beast that....

...so what is the exam-difficulty like? and is it mid-year or just one end of year exam?

Maths is actually "easy" to do well in because your answer is either right or wrong. Compare this to subjects where to get full marks you basically have to write an essay of the same quality that the lecturer would produce. Getting 90+ in a subject is not an easy prospect and you shouldn't go in thinking it's the same as getting 90+ in year 11

University subjects only run for a year, so you do 2 (semester1 and semester2). Assuming they don't have different requirements for high school kids the assessment is as follows: a three hour exam (60%) and 2000 words of lab assignments (40%) each semester.

I didn't do more than a week of psych, wait for mavis to drop by and give you her opinion.
