Free lectures at VU. Worth going or not?

Hi guys,
Just want your opinion on something.
I booked a VU free chem lecture some time ago but now I'm not sure if I should go because it's held in Footscray and I live some 1.5 hours away. Is really worth me spending 3 hours on public transport for a revision lecture of the same length?
Does anyone know anything about the lecturer, Neale Peters?
Please tell me what you think! The lecture is in two days.

Thanks a lot.

The only help I can give is to direct you to these posts:

While you mention the VU lectures - I personally recommend chem, Neale Peters takes it. He was my chem teacher last year, and he's ridiculously good. Seriously knows his stuff, teaches it very well, and has a very subtle sense of humour.

And yeah, Neale Peters is cool, defs recommend him.

I went to the VU lecture with a couple of friends. Neale Peters was a theory beast. Talks so much about the theory and not much explaining questions haha. I wouldn't mind having him as a teacher though, considering how much talking he does, i'm sure that you would learn so so much from him.

Thanks, he sounds like a good lecturer, but being a girl I'm a bit reluctant to venture out so far to Footscray on my own....

Haha i live in the west and it really isn't that bad. If you're well of just try not to look rich...

The lectures i did last year were worth it for me, especially considering the price (big 0).

I mean if you don't learn anything you wasted a couple hours but you don't really have anything to lose by going.... So, i reckon its a good idea to go. Either you gain nothing or gain something, you won't slide backwards suddenly.

The lecturers i had last year were very knowledgeable as well.

I don't blame you, I hear all the girls who haven't escaped Footscray yet just hide inside for fear of the horrors being committed every day on the streets -.-

I would also like to add that I just went to the VU Physics Lecture and it was amazing!

The guy was like a chief assessor or something and apparently he just lectured at TSFX the week before.

So I just saved $100 :D

I have friends who went to VU for the free chem lecture last year. Not sure if its the same guy though, can't remember. But from memory, whoever they got in VU, it was good. If the lecture is conducted at the morning or at early afternoon, it shouldn't be too bad right? I don't know too much about Footscray... Maybe get a group of friends to go with you.
