Nah Unit 4 is weighted the same as Unit 3 - 25% each.

I think you'd get a SS of around 43-45 with that

My friend who's gotten the same wants to know what if she gets full marks on her exam?

If you're ranked highly in a strong cohort, then you're SAC marks should get moderated up!
And by the way, if you're friend got full marks in her exam, she would get a 50, as long as her SAC marks are in the A+ range
But mind you, I have NEVER heard of anyone getting full marks in an English exam; I've heard of people getting 50s with losing a couple of marks.

Umm to be honest I can't really answer that, because ESL is marked differently to English. Also, I looked at the grade distributions for ESL in 2010 here: http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/vce/statistics/2010/section3/vce_english_esl_ga10.pdf
It says your written exam is out of 400 (2 examiners marking it out of 200). I am mega perplexed :S

In all honesty, I'm not totally sure. But I think the higher you're ranked (in a strong cohort) the higher your Unit 3&4 SACs will be moderated. But even if you're ranked averagely in the strong cohort, you should still be moderated up, because your cohort itself should push the marks up. I think that's how it works, but I'm not really sure :/

Lol, I think you could get a study score between 38-40 (I reckon your SAC marks would be moderated up, looking at your exam score

Haha well I'm sure there's somebody who has done ESL before on ATARnotes. Search around and hopefully you'll find the answers you're looking for
