Just wondering how strict VCAA are when they mark exams and your answers arent fully simplified; would you lose a mark?

If it's something obvious, then probably (eg. simplifying 2/4 = 1/2, etc.). For logs, I don't think so though.

On one of the past examiners reports they were happy with both 2ln(2) and ln(4). If it turns out to be an easy exam and they want to be picky like mid year for chem, then you may want to be careful. Go with 2ln(2).

Yeah i've heard that as well. Plus on examiners reports and such they usually have in brackets (other equivalent answers were accepted).

Just seeking some clarity: Examiners hate the notation ln(x) right?

Yeh it's jsut easier to type ln() than log (subscript) e (x)
