Lack of Motivation

Ok, so it's time for exam revision for Further Maths and whatnot, but I just can't help but feel unmotivated to do the past exam papers I've set myself to do on a schedule planned in advance until the exam. I'd rather do methods or specialist work in advance for next year. I also find it so dry and bland how further maths is like "here's a formula, solve it" and doesn't go into higher order mathematics. I am someone who does well in my class.

Any tips to get me motivated. Also, last night on my first past exam for the Core and Number Patterns, I got all the questions right except one. I hope this is a good sign. :\

the "Except one" part separates the 50s and the 49s. Get motivated by personal ambition.

Yeah, Further Maths is really competitive. I know I'm never worth a 50 anyway, I'll be happy with anything above a 40, ahaha, considering how I got a B on my Psychology midyear.

Yeah. I'll find that spark of ambition.

Tbh that attitude is the reason why you're not going to get a 50. Good scores only come from belief.

This is where I was at this time last year. I lost motivation for further because it was just boring me. Short answer is DON"T!. Seriously though, every little bit counts in further. A couple of marks could mean a couple points drop in study score. Further is easy but there is tricks that get people. Just think there is also other smart students out there taking advantage of the "further situation" who are studying right now, right now those who you are competing with.

You have to stay to yourself, it is only 3 more weeks then I can forget as much as further as possible and "burn the books". Once these three weeks are gone you can't get them back, use them. And there is always plenty of time for the fun meth and spesh stuff on the holidays, when you are less stressed, you are mroe relaxed and will be able to enjoy it more.

Say this out loud to yourself. "I am going to do the best I can in further. I am going to put all my effort into further for the next three weeks. I am going to go and ace those exams."

Also remember small silly mistakes cost you a lot in further, time to iron those out now.

Don't get slack like I did, you'll drop that little bit to a 45 like I did (not that that is bad, I'm happy with that, I'm just sayong if I didn't get slack maybe it would be higher).

Good luck.

EDIT: Remember, don't die from overdoing it though, you need a rest sometimes.

Thank you. I'll do that!! Yeah, the three weeks part, realising I'll never get them back is true and just noticing that.. It's a wake-up call. I've realised I'm the type of person that, at times, tends to fall for VCAA's errors, so I've mainly been working to spot those and smooth out those rough edges.

I try to shy away from competitive situations too, ahaha. Just who I am. Ok, I'm going to open a past exam now and get to it.

wow im just like that! even though im in year 11 i always find my self doing next years methods instead of focusing on my further maths exam this year. B^3's advise is good though, you'll end up regretting it if you dont do your best.
