If all your friends are heading on holidays straight after exams and you're sticking around (literally, in the heat) this might be worth looking at for those who finish off with year 12 this year:

2011compass.wordpress.com

2 week community engagement program over the summer for year 12s who don't know what to do with themselves with nothing to study. No cost (well except for the $9 if you want to tour the SYN studios)
Run by a group of University of Melbourne students.

... Or you could apply for one of the 10,000 free plane tickets that Japan is giving away and spend a month in Japan.

Or perhaps enjoy the rare sense of liberation and freedom that you'll only experience once in your entire lifetime.

Relax.Sleep in til 2pm.Drink tea.Read a book.Watch a movie.

Detach yourselves from the hustle and bustle of contemporary society and derive pleasure from the simplest things, such as the sweet perfume of early morning rain.

The 3 months after exams will be your last respite from the responsibilities of life. So savour it.

That was on the front page of The Japan Times today.

:) That was what I thought too, before I graduated. I had about a week doing nothing after exams and thought: this is great. Then it became more like: Now what do I do? Obviously, good for the people who get to go on holidays and have a casual job lined up: but yeah, you can start to go a little crazy in your own company over those 3 long months...

I'll repost this a few weeks after the exams and see what happens :P

So yep, just another plug for COMPASS. If this is only your second day of freedom and you're already bored like o_o, this could be for you. Or even if you don't care and don't get why anybody would not be enjoying doing nothing after 13 years of hard slog, your year 12 friends might be interested. So forward the message onto them :)
