No Maths & Science subjects.

Putting this simply, I dislike most Science and Maths subjects, even though I feel if I put the required effort I can understand the concepts, but they don't interest me in the slightest.
I am very much a Humanities person.

So I have opted to do subjects next year which I consider I am good at and also enjoy (My subjects are in my sig), but the fact that none of these are Methods, Bio, Chem etc is haunting me. (You can tell by the time I'm posting this)

In addition to all this, the course I am pursuing which is Environments at Melbourne Uni followed by a masters in Architecture, only asks for an 86 ATAR and a study score of 25/50 for English.

What are your thoughts ?

Just do what interests you and what you need - doing a particular set of subjects doesn't necessarily make one student more superior than the other - everyone's different

Concur. Ignore scaling when you choose your subjects; scaling will take care of itself.
Do what you like, seriously :D

Doesn't matter what you pick, just do what you want.
Be aware that if you want to do architecture, then science is going to come into the picture before you get there

Just a separate question,

If I'm going to be taking  Revs, Inter Pol and National Politics how strong does my English have to be ?

Don't know about the others, but Revs is very much about the content - not the expression. It helps to be able to write fluently and fancily, but really the goal is to show the examiners you know your dates/events/history. Of course, good expression makes things easier for the examiners, but as far I as know, you don't get marked on expression.

Also with your first question - that shouldn't be a worry at all. Do subjects you like and it'll be fine. :) Loads of people just do humanities subjects and they turn out fine. :)

Do what you enjoy. Scaling plays little to no role in the end, you need to be able to put yourself in a position when you're going to get a good score in any subject, you can never solely rely on scaling.

Whilst we are outnumbered by science related students, especially here on VN, there are many students that do very well with mostly humanities subjects [wait till you see Menang's enter at the end of the year ;)]

Just a separate question,

If I'm going to be taking  Revs, Inter Pol and National Politics how strong does my English have to be ?

Whenever you're hoping for a score north of 85, you need to do relatively well in English. English will always be a part of your top 4, you simply can't afford to ignore it.

Just out of curiosity, if you are a humanities student, why Architecture?

The only prerequisite for Architecture is math (any) - it isn't a very science/math orientated career, although it is kind of centred around it.

Architecture is quite science/maths oriented, one of my friends who is doing architecture at uni is saying that a lot of subjects are science subjects and you do things such as materials, which are sciences

I would shy away from saying it's "quite" science/maths oriented, especially in the practice. It's more that you have to know those things in order to incorporate them into a realistic design etc.

I know students who get away with just remembering the science elements and not understanding the concepts for certain situations.

I think Architecture is a mix between the Creative Arts (Design) + Sciences + Humanities, similar to how I think Medicine is Science + Communication + Humanities

Viscom and architecture is a lot like chemistry and pharmaceutical science. It probably should be a prerequisite for architecture, instead it's one of the classes they look at for second-round offers, as well as history and business.

It just seems to me to be more of a science/maths subject than it is a humanities one (the only part I could think off is like architecture history). I guess its more of a different take towards humanities.

Let's say a hospital were to be built: A civil engineer deals with the math and science in relation to the structure. While an architect devises things such as how the different units of the hospital have to interact and how a design can solve this problem +make best use of light, temperature and make things look pretty.
