First time i completed it right...surprisingly finished early with decent lengths of each piece...but wth I feel soo weird!? I can't even keep my eyes fully opened OR see right, my hand feels paralysed and just feel so dead.

How was your first experience? I honestly feel soo retarded right now. :o

BTW: does a stopwatch take longer than the actual time? i know its a stupid question, but using a clock time flies but the stopwatch feels like forever..? Anyone?

We did an english trial exam (as well as for all our other subjects) at school on the previous holidays. I worked backward going from section C to B to A and crashed at the 2 hour 30 minute mark halfway through the text response. I know to eat more than just a couple of weet-bixs for breakfast now and was exhausted for the next two days, don't worry you are not alone.

It's not that bad when you compare it to the UMAT, even though the UMAT is 30 mins shorter than the English Exam, you're generally thinking more intensively during it, so I guess doing a lot of timed UMAT papers helped me train my endurance, but then and again, I'm someone who really enjoys English and I often write poems/short stories for competitions and also just for fun, so I guess I don't mind the Exam so much :D

Even though all my English practice exams have been typed so far, I do realise that it is actually more physically tiring to be writing, I think it's just the way you sit, your posture and the more intense concentration you have when writing that makes you more tired than when typing, but I'll defs try writing a couple of English essays by hand before the exam ;P

BTW: does a stopwatch take longer than the actual time? i know its a stupid question, but using a clock time flies but the stopwatch feels like forever..? Anyone?

Why don't you run them side by side and find out? :P

I did one yesterday, didn't actually find it THAT bad tbh. It's not fun at all, but if you can get into the zone (which I'm sure everyone will exam day) the time passes relatively well.

Also forces you to write an essay which isn't too bad either :P

@B3 hey i did it the same way. Cuz 15 mins reading then since its already in your mind just get straight to it..but i hate the fact that the last essay will probs be affected to some degree due to tiredness, hand pain and hunger :/

@luken true its not that bad..if it was individually. but three in a row is absurd.

Yeah I've done a few. With the first or second one I did, I was completely shocked at just how tired I was, feeling really good up until the last half an hour then struggled to write anything at all.

“We are all alone, born alone, die alone, we shall all someday look back on our lives and see that, in spite of our company, we were alone the whole way. I do not say lonely -- at least, not all the time -- but essentially, and finally, alone. This is what makes your self-respect so important, and I don't see how you can respect yourself if you must look in the hearts and minds of others for your happiness.”

I didn't find it too bad - went C, A, B - it didn't feel too much different from the english exams I've been doing for the last 5 years. My hand never gets sore for some reason, but by the end my eyes weren't focusing on the paper at all, so I was pretty much writing without looking haha... Had about 15 mins to spare, though I didn't use it to check over... I probably should have seeing as I spelt "accompanied" as "accompanyed"... :-\

Yeah was pretty rough. Wrote 1000 words on language analysis, 850 words for text response, 900 words for context piece. Going to try and get text response word count up a bit more.
Did language analysis first, and had every intention to do text response next, but I put if off till last because I just couldn't deal with it yet.
Haven't got feedback on it yet. Hoping an A :)

Yeah not the best experience but i survived!! But yeah i lose concentration with an hour or so to go.
Was premuch writing until the examiner said pens down, but i did have a few 5 mins break between essays. I managed to get 850 words for section A, 680 for B and 750 for C so i was happy with that.

I will definitely have to do it again at least once.....

Got it marked back. Teacher kind of sucks, so I don't know if my scores are right or not.
Analysis: 8.5/10
Context: 8/10
Text Response: 9/10

Been getting 8s/9s/10s the whole year. Enough for a 40? (:

I did one at school which was marked by an assessor. Found it mentally draining but wasn't too bad. Only finished 2 essays though :/
Bleh.
