To put it into context, there will be a second round of interviews in January based on a combination of UMAT + ATAR, so the low 90s percentile kids still have a chance.

I really feel for you mate, it happened to a couple of my friends as well :(. But there is still hope, cos there will be people who back out of monash med :)

Yeah, some kids that were just outside the cut-off should have received that email too
I have a friend who got like 88th percentile who got that email, but a friend who got 83rd percentile didn't get an email at all

For the interviews do they prefer you wear formal or 'neat' casual ?

Pants and a nice shirt, jsut look respectable I suppose is probably best. In theory, turning up in thongs and trackies is no worse, but in reality, you are going into a course that is admired by its respectability...so, show that you can be this person :P

Are you sure? Because i got an email despite getting lower than 83 and i didnt apply to any special recommendation thing..?

I was wondering if they just sent it to everyone or if I still was actually "in contention"?

Yeah, I got 88%ile and got that too. Dunno about lower. Anyway, good luck for your interviews guys :D
