I did biology last year.

I can tell you if you do anything at or above that amount you should be aiming for an A+.

well i used pencil for both chem and bio.
i think they tell you to use pen to ensure all your answers can be seen at ease....

don't take my words though... i always thought that if you write clearly in anything, its fine.

Online assessment: Sample papers for English as a Second Language, History: Revolutions, Outdoor and Environmental Studies and Psychology

As announced in the April VCAA Bulletin (page 4), English as a Second Language, History: Revolutions and Outdoor and Environmental Studies will be marked online this year. This move to online marking has necessitated some changes to the format of these examination papers. In order to enable students and teachers to familiarise themselves with the changes, reformatted versions of the 2010 papers for Outdoor and Environmental Studies and History: Revolutions have been provided. A sample answer book for English as a Second Language (ESL) has also been provided.

A reformatted sample version of the June 2011 Psychology examination paper is available in order to demonstrate the changes in format that will take effect for the November examination.

Agricultural and Horticultural Studies, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Physics and Psychology, which were marked online in 2010 and/or June 2011, will continue to be marked online.

So Biology exams will continue to be marked by hand by other teachers.

Also, I prefer writing in pencil, i'm just so much more confident writing with my trust pacer than with pens. With pens, i tend to make more mistakes, cross it out, then realise i have no more space to write anything. And, i write neater with pencil anyway, so I think it's ok to use pencil.

As to the OP, good on you! Bio is my favourite subject, and i've only done a few exams so far. However, i realise that sometimes i make the same mistake in exams, so what you want to do is:
- QUALITY over QUANTITY. Make sure that you perfect your answers, precise and to the dot. I have a horrible tendency to beat around the bush when it comes to answering - i know my content, just not how to express it! So make sure you are exposed to a variety of answers and see which ones answer the question the best. My teacher is a marker, and she says it's a complete joy to mark answers that just answer the question!
- Application of information and understanding. For this, exposure to more prac exams is essential, but make sure you understand WHY everything is working!

Good luck on exams, the bio one is just over a week away!
2010 - Further Maths; Literature
2011 - Specialist Maths; Mathematical Methods CAS; Japanese Second Language; Chemistry; Biology
2012 - Science/Law @Monash Clayton
