I had a feeling this "premium membership" was going to come sooner or later. =P

Nonetheless, 'tis good.

However, and I might only be the one, I'd rather transfer funds offline ie. not via the internet. Maybe to some PO Box or something.

I'm pretty sure we could arrange something like that. Though kinda risky having a PO Box full of money ...

I can't believe no one else has commented on how absurd this idea is. Enwiabe supposedly created this website in order to enable a variety of students to achieve by giving them access to resources. In his own words:

I wish to thank you for bringing to fruition my vision of breaking down the resources barrier so that all students may have equal opportunity to succeed.

I want to say, once more, that I am incredibly proud of the way this community has turned out. I envisioned a place where students could go to get extra resources, help and advice, and mix with other students whilst they battle their way through their final two years of schooling. It is a battle, and thanks to the complete ineptitude of the state and federal government, it is one that leaves a great deal many students thoroughly disadvantaged.

Whilst it is optional to pay, this new system will make VN inaccessible to students who would benefit from it the most. I know that a lot of features available now will probably become 'premium member only'. Also, the benefits are rather gimmicky. A premium member forum? What the hell? And wtf, locking topics?

Congratulations, VN will now be a carbon copy of bored of studies.

What? Make VN inaccessible?

Premium membership provides optional benefits to members. The main part of it, i.e. the forum, the notes, etc. are available to ALL.

And all the comments so far have been positive. The members can accept it, why can't you?

The notes are still free, the forum is still free, some members just get extra benefits because they're supporting the site. What's so difficult to understand about this? It's a good business model.

I am whole-heartedly opposed to this idea. Members who do not have the available funds will once again be at a disadvantage.

I will delete my account if this happens. I am sick of this crap from the VN admin.

You delete, or threaten to delete, your account once every three days. This is an idle threat. And even if you're being serious, I don't honestly give a rats what you think.

I hope this site fails and you live a lonely empty life.

If you honestly feel all aggrieved about being at a disadvantage because you don't get limitless karma or your own private forum, then you really need to find more worthwhile things in your life to get riled up about.

My two cents is that I don't think these "bonuses" are really worth $20, and if people put flash in their signatures I'm going to get really annoyed.

I will delete my account if this happens. I am sick of this crap from the VN admin.
Will you rejoin five minutes later?
